Former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference Vice President, Omar Abdullah took a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath for giving a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Sumit, a 20-year-old who was killed in the Bulandshahr mob violence on December 3.
Sumit, it appears, can be identified in a viral video, where he can be seen amongst the stone-throwing mob which killed the UP Police Inspector, Subodh Kumar Singh.
Omar Abdullah while criticizing the Yogi government drew a comparison between stone-throwing incidents in Kashmir and UP.
He tweeted, "In Kashmir people who kill cops & snatch weapons are called terrorists. In UP the ruling party will fete & eulogise these killers as heroes. "Maaro, Take His Gun," Said UP Mob: Final Moments Of Inspector On Video."

Omar also hit out at Yogi for failing to show his respects to the slain inspector Subidh Singh's family. Singh's family was called by the UP Chief Minister from Bulandshahr to the latter's residence in Lucknow. "Thank goodness we have more respect for the families of our police officers & jawans when they lay down their lives in the line of duty. @JmuKmrPolice."Omar said.
