The makers of Okka Kshanam starring Allu Sirish, Surabhi and Seerat Kapoor, have postponed its release date in a bid to avoid clashing with Akhil Akkineni's Hello and Nani's Middle Class Abbayi (MCA).
The makers had initially planned to release Okka Kshanam as a Christmas treat on December 22. But they were reportedly concerned about its prospects at the box office, as it was to compete with Hello and Middle Class Abbayi, which are also slated for worldwide release on the same date.
There was tremendous pressure on the makers of these three films to postpone their release. But since producers of Hello and Middle Class Abbayi declined to delay or advance their release, the Okka Kshanam team has reportedly decided to postpone it by one week to avoid suffering losses.
The teaser of Okka Kshanam has got a good response from the audience. Allu Sirish took to his Twitter handle to thank viewers for liking it. Meanwhile, he also revealed its new release date. He tweeted: "Thank you for the terrific response to our teaser. #OkkaKshanam now releasing on 28th December 2017."
Okka Kshanam is a romantic thriller movie, written and directed by VI Anand and produced by Chakri Chigurupati. The movie is about a student, who is murdered. A news channel investigates her death and claims that she was killed by her lover. After facing pressure, the government appoints experts to learn the truth about her death.
VI Anand who delivered a blockbuster with Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, released on November 18, 2016. The director hopes to score another hit with Okka Kshanam. He addressed the media at its teaser launch and thanked hero Allu Sirish and producers of the movie for their faith in him.
Allu Sirish agreed to do Okka Kshanam even before the release of Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Anand said. He said that Sirish and the producers told said they will do the film irrespective of the result of EPC. He thanked them for believing in his story. Sirish put his heart and soul into this film. This film has a unique concept, he added.
