A Border Security Force (BSF) party in Odisha came under a Maoist attack on Wednesday, leaving at least three jawans dead. One civilian was also reportedly killed in the blast.
The BSF jawans were killed in a landmine blast near the Sukma-Malkangiri border in Chitrkonda in Odisha, as per some reports. However, other reports suggested that they were ambushed and were killed in an encounter.
According to Hindustan Times, the BSF party was engaged in a combing operation in the Maoist-stronghold of Malkangiri district in Odisha when they were ambushed in a landmine blast triggered by the Naxalites.
Three jawans lost their lives, while six have been injured, ANI reported. A civilian was also killed, HT reported.
