Oculus announced plans to introduce social features to its Samsung Gear VR from March 10 that enables users to create a profile and search for people.
It also announced via official blog post that the Gear VR is getting "made-for-VR games," letting the users join their friends or compete with others. Here are the games it announced:
Oculus created "Social Trivia" that lets users battle for knowledge, with participation of up to four friends. Now, users can create rooms with their friends in Oculus Social. These rooms will let users steam Vimeo or Twitch with their friends.
"Herobound: Gladiators" is a multiplayer adventure game where up to four people can come together to defeat goblins and demons in arena battlefields. Users can utilise the integrated voice chat to talk and strategise their plans.
Now, users can write reviews for apps on Oculus Store.
Meanwhile, Oculus users can connect to their Facebook accounts, personalise their Oculus video based on the people and pages that users follow. Eventually, users will be allowed to share and like Facebook 360 videos from the VR.
Oculus also informed about its plans to introduce new developer tools that make the process to create social VR games and apps.
Samsung Gear VR is a virtual reality headset that is compatible with Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones, which can turn user's phone into virtual reality platform in conjunction with the headset. The Gear VR costs $99.
