One of the most aspirational story to which took up every bookstore and book selling websites by storm, was the biography on our 'desi girl' Priyanka Chopra, written by Aseem Chhabra. Titled – 'Priyanka Chopra – the Incredible Story of a Global Superstar' – traces Priyanka Chopra's journey from a small town to global dominance.
While fans would have loved to read more personal accounts of the actress' involvement with co-stars – Shah Rukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor and the reality behind the rumours of her closeness with Akshay Kumar, Chhabra has cleverly stayed away from touching any controversial topics.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, talking about Priyanka's closeness with Shah Rukh, Chhabra said, "But where is the evidence?" However, on being coaxed some more, he revealed, "'I asked Karan Johar about his fight with Priyanka during my book launch, and he did say, "Oh, that was in the past!'"
Comparing Aishwarya Rai's Hollywood journey to that of Priyanka Chopra, the writer had said in the same interview, "It's fascinating how a big star from Bollywood gives it all up, moves to another country. And becomes this big. She succeeded where Aishwarya Rai failed. Aishwarya Rai did try, but failed. First of all, though she was very beautiful, she was very coy about the fact that she was not going to kiss, she was not going to do any nude scenes.
On the other hand, Priyanka knew exactly what the industry in Hollywood required. It's not that she has to kiss all the time or have sex scenes. But sometimes in America, you are required to this. And she was not shy about it."
Talking about how she won everyone with her interviews, Chhabra said, "She was funny, she was hilarious, sometimes flirtatious! She always knows what to do," admitting that she has become a phenomenon in the western world.
