Mani Ratnam's upcoming film has been making headlines for the past few weeks. Sources close to the film industry have confirmed that the movie will star Dulquer Salmaan and Karthi in the lead.
Reports also said that the ace filmmaker has roped in Shruthi Haasan as the lead heroine. But, the latest news is that Keerthy Suresh who will play the lead and not Shruthi.
Keerthy, who is the daughter of yesteryear heroine Menaka and Malayalam film producer Suresh Kumar, has already completed "Idhu Enna Mayam" with Vikram Prabhu, "Rajini Murugan" with Siva Karthikeyan and "Pambhu Sattai" with Bobby Simha and is currently shooting for Prabhu Solomon's untitled Dhanush starrer.
However, official confirmation regarding the star cast of the upcoming films is still awaited. Mani Ratnam, as per the reports, is currently on a vacation and is expected to clear rumours once he returns.
Meanwhile, the lead heroes of the film, Dulquer and Karthi, have previously worked the ace director. Dulquer had become a sensation with his performance in Mani Ratnam's last venture, "OK Kanmani."
Whereas Karthi began his career as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam in his Tamil-Hindi thriller "Aayutha Ezhuthu". Apparently, Karthi was offered to play a role in the 2004 hit movie, but denied and chose to be part of the directorial team.
Karthi, who had a series of flops, had recently made a huge comeback with his performances in "Komban" and "Madras".
Meanwhile, sources have also confirmed that Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman will compose music for the multi-starrer film.
