Though, reports have been doing the rounds for the past few years of Shah Rukh Khan playing the legendary hockey player, Dhyan Chand onscreen, the superstar has reportedly denied the news.
"Don't believe what you read in the papers. I have also read that I am doing a film on Dhyan Chand," says Shah Rukh, laughing off the matter. He adds, "I have never been offered a film on Dhyan Chand. I have been reading about it in the papers," according to Hindustan Times.
It was in 2012, five years after SRK's blockbuster Chak De! India (2007) was released, when the news of SRK acting in the biopic of Dhyan Chand started streaming in. Although no official announcement was made , reports claimed that the actor was apparently producing the Dhyan Chand project too.
But the actor denies this too, saying, "I read in the papers that I am [producing it]. I don't know who is even making it."
Dhyan Chand is one among the greatest Indian hockey players. The sportsman's extraordinary feats in goal-scoring earned him three Olympic gold medals in three consecutive Olympic seasons in 1928, 1932 and 1936.
