There were a lot of reports that Ajith would be playing the role of a taxi driver in his next movie, which is presently called by the name "Thala 56". But now it turns out that it is not him but Shruti Haasan, who plays the afore-mentioned character in the Tamil movie.
The actress is excited about the role and she also took part in the opening schedule recently in Chennai, according to The Times of India. Her portions will be mainly shot in Kolkata.
"Shruti Haasan is kicked about her role. She plays a taxi driver, who drives in Kolkata. She is donning a khaki uniform too. She has recently shot in Chennai and the crew may travel to Kolkata for the next schedule of the film. So, it is Shruti who's playing the driver, not Ajith," the daily quoted a source as saying.
Rumours were rife that Ajith was playing the role of a taxi driver, after the shooting spot pictures were released. Fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that the actor was playing an ordinary man and the role was of a taxi driver.
Meanwhile, the unit of "Thala 56" is getting ready for its next schedule of shooting, which will be completed in Kolkata. It is a one-month schedule and majority of the portions will be wrapped up in the next 30 days.
In the first schedule in Chennai, the scenes involving Ajith, Lakshmi Menon and Shruti Haasan were shot. Stunt Siva is also said to have choreographed an action sequence. The upcoming movie is directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by AM Rathnam.
The movie will appear before the audience on Diwali and "Thala 56" team is working hard to deliver the product on time.
