After unveiling the Nokia X6 global variant (aka Nokia 6.1 Plus Android One), HMD Global Oy is gearing up to launch the Nokia X5 outside China.
The company has received Bluetooth certification, not for one or two but for five Nokia X5 variants--TA-1108, TA-1120, TA-1112, TA-1102 and TA-1105, reported NPU blog citing the official document.
This apparently means that the Nokia X5 will be made available in multiple international markets and rumour has it that the device will be rebranded as the Nokia 5.1 Plus Android One on lines of Nokia 6.1 Plus.
Will the Nokia X5 aka Nokia 5.1 Plus Android One come to India?
Most probably yes. HMD Global has received a good response to its products ranging from budget Nokia 2 to top-end Nokia 8 series ever since the Nokia brand made a second come back in 2017. It is slowing gaining a foothold over the lost market share (between late 2000 and early 2010 era) in India.
The company has already announced to hold a product launch event in India later this month, but reports are indicating that it might be the Nokia 6.1 Plus. But, there are chances that the company might just announce the price of the Nokia 5.1 Plus and release is later in the market so that the former gets some store shelf time and not get cannibalised by the latter.
For those unaware, Nokia 5.1 Plus aka Nokia X5 comes with 5.86-inch HD+ display with an Apple iPhone X-like notch on the top, which houses a front camera and a set of sensors. The screen is made of LCD and features 19:9 aspect ratio.
On the back, it boasts sturdy polycarbonate-based shell on it with an additional layer of the glass-like material top, to offer premium-like feel.
Under-the-hood, Nokia X5 houses MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core backed by 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage (expandable up to 256GB), Android Oreo and a 3,080mAh battery, which is more than enough to last a full day under mixed usage.
As far as the camera is concerned, it boasts 13MP+5MP dual shooters with LED flash on the back and an 8MP snapper on the front. With two cameras, the device offers Portrait Mode, which allows users to adjust the clarity of the scene behind the subject. Users can change focus on the background to get the Bokeh blur effect.
