Nokia N1 Android Tablet Tipped to be Released in India Soon: Report

Nokia-branded Foxconn Android tablet N1 is reported to get launched in India soon.

Nokia N1 was originally unveiled way back in November last year. It got released first in China and recently got rolled out in Taiwan in April. Now, it is expected to set foot in India, if the export-import manifests (courtesy, NPU) of Indian logistic firm Zauba.com is to be believed.

In the entry, one Nokia N1 (codenamed R100867) device has been imported from US to Bengaluru. In the description, tablet comes with the tag, "not for sale", and it also mentions that the device is for the company's internal use and testing purpose only, leading many to believe Foxconn-Nokia may soon launch N1 tablet in India.

Though Nokia N1's India launch speculations are running wild online, Foxconn is yet to respond to the media.

For the uninitiated, Nokia N1 boasts of Aluminum cover (with surface anodization) and curved corners. Even the front-camera module placement is uncannily similar to the Apple slate.

However, Nokia N1 differs in terms of internal hardware. It is shipped with the Android's latest 5.0 Lollipop with Nokia Z launcher UI and is powered by 2.3GHz Intel 64-bit Atom Z3580 series CPU with 2GB RAM and a 5GB eMMC memory.

Other stipulated features include an 8mp camera (with auto-focus, full video recording ability), a 5mp camera, 5,300mAh lithium polymer battery, Bluetooth v4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with MIMO; dual-band: 2.4GHz & 5GHz).
