Nokia Lumia 530 Budget Quad-Core Smartphone Unveiled; Set to Hit Stores in August

Devices' arm of the American software giant, Microsoft has unveiled a budget handset dubbed as Nokia Lumia 530.

"We are moving quickly to help more people experience the uncompromised Lumia technologies, third-party apps and Microsoft services that we deliver on our flagship products," said Jo Harlow, corporate vice president of Microsoft Devices Group.

"Lumia 530 underscores our commitment to making affordable smartphones for everyone, and introducing more people to the best of Microsoft."

The new Nokia Lumia 530 sports a 4.0-inch FWVGA (854x480p) LCD screen and ships with the Microsoft's latest mobile software Windows Phone v8.1 OS out-of-the-box.

Though the number 530 gives an impression of being a successor to Lumia 525, it is a low-end device. It houses 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage (expandable) and comes with 5.0-megapixel camera with fixed focus, 480p video recording, which is less superior to the Lumia 525. But considering the Lumia 530's price-tag of around €85 ($114/₹6,900), it still makes it a good buy.

Like all Lumia phones, the new phone too comes in an array of bright hued covers like bright orange, bright green, dark grey and white color variant and is said to be made available in select global markets in August.
