The India arm of technology firm Nokia is reportedly planning to launch two new phablets, Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320, next week.
The company has begun sending invites to media houses for an event scheduled on 16 December (Monday) in New Delhi.
The invitation doesn't specify any details of the event, but reports suggest that Nokia may launch the Lumia 1520 and the budget variant Lumia 1320. The phablets were already unveiled on 22 October at Nokia World 2013 in at Abu Dhabi.
Adding weight to these speculations, The website of Nokia India's phone portfolio showed the phablets being tagged as 'Coming Soon'.
On the specifications front, Lumia 1520 boasts of a 6.0-inch full HD (1920x1080p) AMOLED display with 368 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density and ships with the new updated Windows Phone 8 OS (Lumia Black) out-of-the-box.
Under the hood, it packs Snapdragon 800 series quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB RAM, 32GB (expandable up 64GB), 20.0-megapixel main camera (with LED flash, 6-lens Carl Zeiss optics, OIS and more), 1.2-megapixel wide angle front-camera and a 3400mAh battery.
On the other hand, Lumia 1320 is a low-end version of Lumia 1520. It flaunts a 6.0-inch HD (720x1280p) IPS LCD screen with pixel density of 245 ppi (pixels per inch). It runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS powered by dual-core snapdragon S4 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 64GB).
Other specifications include a 5.0-megapixel main camera with full HD video recording ability, 640x480p secondary camera and a 3400 mAh battery.
Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 are expected to be priced $749 (₹46,554) and $339 (₹21,063), respectively (excluding local taxes). The phones would fall between the high-end segment (like Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max) and mid-range smartphone market (like Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and Karbonn Titanium S9).
