HMD Global Oy, riding high on successful Nokia series phones' launches in 2017, is now prepping groundwork for the release of the second generation devices next month.
The company's Nokia 6 (2018) bearing model number TA-1054 series has received the government-run TENAA telecommunication regulatory certification in China, thereby getting one step closer to officially launch the new mid-range phone, reported NPU.
Many might wonder why HMD Global is hurrying to unveil the second-generation Nokia 6. While the predecessor is less than six months old, it has to be noted that the actual device originally debuted in China way back in January and it was made outside the country only after August. So, Nokia 6 actually completes a year in January 2018 and the company is almost ready to replace it with the successor.
HMD Global Oy is expected to unveil new Nokia 6 (2018) first in China next month and later release it in international markets in the latter part of the second quarter (April-June) or early third quarter (July-September) of 2018.
Nokia 6 (2018): What we know so far
As per recent reports, Nokia 6 (2018) will borrow some design elements from Nokia 7 such as a front panel with less-bezel and with expanded display space, the physical finger-print sensor-cum-home button, which was seen in the 2017-series, will be shifted to the back-side. It is also expected embrace FullView display having 18:9 aspect ratio, which is now the new standard in the mid-range phone category.
The new Nokia 6 series is also expected to come with dual-camera sensor having dual-sight Bothie effect. But don't mistake it for the Bokeh blur effect.
It allows users to record videos and take images simultaneously from the front and the back via Dual-Sight mode.
The device owners can also live-stream front-back videos with split-screen on Facebook.
Nokia 6 (2018) is also said to run Android Oreo with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660/630 octa-core CPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB and a full day's battery.
