Finnish handset maker Nokia has released a new dual-SIM feature phone, Nokia 220, in India via its online store.
Nokia 220 made its debut at the recently concluded MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014 but got sidelined by the Nokia X series handsets; the company's first Android smartphones. And now, the company has made Nokia 220 available at its official online store for ₹2,749.
Nokia 220 dual-SIM sports a 2.4-inch 320x240p resolution screen with numeric keypad and runs on Nokia OS platform. It packs a 2.0-megapixel camera (with 2X digital zoom), expandable memory (32GB) and 970 mAh battery, which can run the phone for 15 hours of talk time and close to 24 days under standby mode.
The Finnish firm had launched Nokia X in India on 10 March for ₹8,599. It sports a 4.0-inch WVGA (800x480p) IPS LCD screen with pixel density of 233 ppi (pixels per inch) and ships with X Software v1.0, a tweaked AOSP (Android Open Source Project) OS.
Unlike normal Android-based handsets, the phone will feature 'Tiles' interface, similar to the one seen inside the Windows Phone OS powered devices. Instead of Google based maps and applications, people will find Nokia's Here maps service, Mix Radio (with more than 30 million songs), Nokia browser and more. Users can also side-load Android apps from third party app stores. [For more details, click here]
