The top 10 contestants have been chosen but fans of "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" will have to wait another week to see them perform. The hit TV show has gone on a week's hiatus owing to the 4th of July celebrations and FOX will air the latest instalment, episode 6 on Monday, July 11.
So far, the contestants on "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" have been through gruelling rehearsals. In some cases, the dancers have had to learn new styles and choreography in a couple of hours. It seems like the older contestants are more adept at embracing a completely different style but it remains to be seen how well the kids establish their skills as the competition progresses.
As of now, the top 10 includes Tate, Jordyn, Kida, Jake, JT, Sheaden, Ruby, Emma, Daniella, and Tahani. The rest of the competition will include performances by the contestants and the All-stars, finally leading to some eliminations.
When "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" returns to television screens next week, the top 10 and the All-stars will have to perform not just for Nigel, Paula and Jason, they will also be ranked by former "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler.
The 13-year-old, who has not sat on the panel will finally do so in Season 13 episode 6. In a recent interview, Maddie said that she will not be a mean judge. "The Book of Henry" star added, "I want the kids to be ok with hearing the criticism and I think it will be a real good experience. I definitely want to help them grow throughout the competition."
"So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" Season 13 episode 6 airs at 8 p.m. EST on Monday, July 11, on FOX. You can stream or watch the other episodes online via FOX NOW.
