There's a lot to cover in the final few episodes of "Madam Secretary," but fans will have to wait for another week to see Season 2 episode 19 titled "Desperate Remedies." The network will telecast the latest episode April 10.
[Spoiler Alert]
Although the show is primarily focused on Elizabeth McCord's (Téa Leoni) role as Secretary of State, it is her husband, Henry (Tim Daly), who has been the star of the last few episodes. In episode 18, Henry and his team committed themselves to finding the world's most-wanted terrorist: Jibral Disah (Bobak Bakhtiari), who is believed to be living with his third wife, Hijriyyah.
In last week's episode, Henry sought Hijriyyah's former school teacher's trust by telling her all about his mission. Although we don't know yet if this was in America's best interest, Henry's asset complied and by extension helped them locate Hijriyyah.
Now, all that remains is crafting a plan to arrest Disah. This will perhaps be revealed in the upcoming episode. However, finding the world's most-wanted terrorist might not be easy and things might go awry for Henry's team up until the last episode of Season 2.
Episode 18 of "Madam Secretary" also hinted at the upcoming presidential election, and Bess's possible role in it. So far, she has been hounded by President Dalton's (Keith Carradine) staff for the many goof-ups. The latest occurred during an interview with Jane Pauley. The Secretary of State's demeanour was flippant while talking to the journalist about the Doomsday clock and it's time revision to three minutes from four.
Is the show foregrounding Bess's limited role in the presidential election? Will this be a major plotline of Season 3? This remains to be seen.
"Madam Secretary" Season 1 episode 19 airs Sunday, April 10, at 8 p.m. on CBS. You can stream the past episodes via CBS All Access.
