While the makers of upcoming film "Shuddhi" have cast Hrithik Roshan for the male lead, they are still to decide as to who will play the actor's ladylove.
As soon as filmmaker-producer Karan Johar announced that Hrithik was roped in for his next venture, rumours were doing the rounds that Johar had asked his close friend Kareena Kapoor to play the female lead.
It was said that "Shuddhi" will reunite one of Bollywood's hottest on-screen couples - Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kappoor - after a gap of 10 years. The duo who were last seen together in Sooraj Barjatya's 2003 film "Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon" have also co-starred in "Yaadein," "Mujhse Dosti Karoge!" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
It was also reported that Deepika Padukone was considered for the role.
Recent buzz is that the film's makes have finally zeroed in on Anushka Sharma. Deepika and Kareena were said to have opted out of the project due to their tight schedules.
However, director Karan Malhotra, who has reunited with Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan for "Shuddhi", refuted the reports saying they are yet to decide on the female lead.
"All the reports, which has been flashing, are fake. We didn't cast Kareena Kapoor neither Anushka Sharma. In a months time, I will finalise the leading lady for my film," Malhotra told IANS.
Slamming the reports of veteran actor Danny Denzongpa being approached to play a negative role in the film, the director said, "This is a false news. I never approached Danny for this film. I have my wish list ready for the film. We will rope in some strong veteran actor, but we have not approached anybody so far."
