The original film starred Rakshity Shetty, who also directed the film along with Kishore. The film narrates incidents from the perspective of five people that lead to a mysterious death.
Nivin Pauly has tried to give life to Richie's character in his own style although the traits of the character from the original has been retained.
Coming to the Tamil version, Natarajan Subramaniam, Ashok Selvan, Shraddha Srinath, Prakash Raj and others are in the cast. The shooting of the flick commenced in June 2016 and it will hit the screens in May.
Mysskin's erstwhile associate Gautham Ramachandran has written screenplay for the film directed Nivin Pauly. The movie has S Pandikumar's cinematography and B Ajaneesh Loknath's music.
The interesting part of the story is that Richie is the first Tamil movie of Nivin Pauly after Premam won the hearts of Tamil audience. It may be recalled here that the actor had made his Kollywood debut in Neram.
