Many film stars and celebrities, including Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Rima Kallingal, Aashiq Abu, Ranjith Shankar, Alphonse Putheran, Jude Anthany Joseph and Renjini Haridas have taken up the challenge.
Mammootty had kick started the challenge after being inspired by the ice bucket challenge. He had also nominated Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and Tamil stars Vijay and Suriya. Now, many of his fans and friends have taken up the challenge.
"We are taking up 'My Tree challenge' as we think it is one of the sensible challenges for our society and at least ten out of 100 saplings will grow to be a tree. For the challenge to continue, we nominate Fahadh, Nazriya and director Ranjith", said Aashiq Abu along with actress Rima.
"I am also part of Mammookka's 'My Tree Challenge' now. I also nominate my friends Vineeth Sreenivasan, Nivin Pauly, Alphonse Putharen, Aju Varghese and Shaan Rahmaan to carry on this campaign," said director Jude Anthany Joseph.
"I'm requesting Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Mohanlal, Mammootty (again) and Anwar Rasheed to accept 'My Tree Challenge" and plant a tree to make our nature and environment more happening and happy. I was given the option to request to anyone. I chose these 5 charismatic personalities to make our earth better and wonderful." said Alphonse Putharen on his Facebook page.
"Mammookka's new initiative 'My Trees Challenge' is something that will benefit us and our future generation. I am also doing a small part by planting a sapling. I challenge Asif Ali, Rejith Menon and Anu Mohan to take up the challenge and all my Facebook friends to be part of the campaign. Kindly spread this initiative because we need more greenery in our life and for our future generations too," said Aju Varghese.
"I have also become part of Mammooka's 'My Tree Challenge'. I challenge Dileep, Dulquer Salmaan and Abride Shine", said Nivin Pauly.
"I have now become part of Mammootty uncle's 'My Tree Challenge'. I wish more and more people to be part of this campaign. Take the responsibility of planting more trees and plants and thereby protect our land for our future generation," said Vineeth Sreenivasan.
"I think the world need to be more green and people like you and I should add to that so the future generations can benefit from the good of it all. I would like to join in for the challenge purely because I feel the same about the challenge as well. I think more people need to go out and plant more tress and prevent bad things that can happen to our wonderful planet. Part of challenge is to plant a tree. I am planting a mango tree because I love mangoes. We want it to be global phenomena and not restricted to Kerala or India. So I am challenging few of my well known friends. So I playback singer K.S. Chithra, pop singer Usha Uthup and actress Amala Paul," said popular television anchor Ranjini Haridas.
