E-tail major Flipkart on Wednesday announced in a statement the appointment of Nitin Seth as the company's new chief people officer: He will be leading the human resource functions for the company.
Flipkart said Seth would be reporting to Binny Bansal, CEO and co-founder of Flipkart.
This move comes close on the heels of a top management shuffle at Flipkart that saw its head of the commerce platform, Mukesh Bansal, and chief business officer Amit Nagori bid adieu to the e-commerce behemoth.
Flipkart said Seth is an industry veteran with over two decades of experience behind him in entrepreneurship, strategy, consulting, operations management and business process redesign. Seth is moving to Flipkart from Fidelity International, where he was managing director and country head in India.
"Nitin brings with him a unique mix of cross-sectoral experience, deep understanding of business, entrepreneurial DNA and a long track record of building and nurturing winning teams," Binny Bansal, CEO of Flipkart, said in a statement. "I am confident Nitin will play a key role in enabling the team at Flipkart to fulfil our long term mission of transforming commerce in India through technology."
Prior to working with Fidelity International, Seth worked with McKinsey as director of McKC, McKinsey's global knowledge centre in India.
"It's very inspiring to see Binny and Sachin's vision of creating a world-class company out of India. I am really excited to be a part of an organisation that is using technology to transform how a billion customers shop online and creating a massive impact in the country," Seth said in a statement. "Flipkart requires a world-class talent pool and I look forward to working with the leadership team to build on this and create a great organisation."
