Actor Nithin's long-awaited movie "Courier Boy Kalyan" (CBK) is slated to be released in theatres on 17 September. Producer Gautham Menon is thrilled about the huge advanced bookings for the flick.
The romantic action film, written and directed by Premsai, has been in production for a long time. It was slated for release a year ago, but was delayed due to financial problems. Venkat Somasundaram and Reshma Ghatala recently joined hands with Gautham Menon and bailed the film out of the crisis.
The Nithin and Yami Gautam starrer cleared the formalities of the Censor Board a week ago and received a U/A certificate. The movie is scheduled to be released on Ganesh Chathurthi.
"Courier Boy Kalyan", which will be released in a large number of theatres, has registered an average of 60% bookins for its opening day in Andhra Pradesh and Telanangana. The film has recorded around 40% of booking of the first day in Karnataka and other parts of the country. The word-of-mouth factor is going to improve the advance booking for the weekend.
Gautham Menon, who had a tough time bringing the movie to theatres, is delighted over the huge response. The producer took to Twitter to share his excitement on Monday and wrote, "Hearing reports of very good advance bookings for courier boy Kalyan. Bookings opened last night. Happy and thankful."
"Courier Boy Kalyan" is a bilingual movie simultaneously shot in Tamil as "Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum" with Jai in the lead role. It is a freemake of 2012 Hollywood movie "Premium Rush".
Karthik composed the music while Satya Ponmar handled the cinematography. Both the versions will be released on the same date.
