Nissan Motor India rolled out a special edition of its bestselling car, Sunny, in India with price starting from ₹8.60 lakh.
The company has launched both petrol and diesel variants in India. The special edition of Sunny packs several changes like reverse cameras and, leather seats, a new 2 DIN touch-screen audio system with Bluetooth and USB compatibility
"Sunny has been a success right from the launch in September 2011 and the car has continued to be a popular choice among customers in the mid-sized sedan segment," Nitish Tipnis, Director (Sales and Marketing) of Nissan's national sales company in India - Hover Automotive India - said Nissan in a statement.
The new model will be available in the coming days through all Nissan dealerships, the company said. The car will be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant of the special edition model is priced at ₹8.60 lakh and the diesel engine model is priced at ₹9.68 lakh. The company also said that the introduction of the new model is an appreciation to loyal customers who popularised the Sunny brand in India.
"The launch of this special edition is a 'thank you' to our customers for making Sunny such a success. We hope to further delight them with the generous range of enhancements on offer and, as you would expect from Nissan, the addition of even more advanced technology," said Nissan.
