Nissan India is moving closer to the launch of its flagship sports car, the GT-R, in India. The Japanese company started the booking process for GT-R at the beginning of September. Emerging reports now indicate the vehicle will be priced at Rs 2 crore, ex-showroom.
Ahead of the launch, Nissan showcased the 2017 GT-R to interested customers, letting them experience the Godzilla, Zigwheels reported. The GT-R is also called as Godzilla for its performance credentials. Nissan India showcased the pre-facelifted version of the GT-R at Auto Expo 2016 in February. The company later confirmed it will launch the new version of the GT-R that made its debut at the New York International Auto Show in March 2016.
The changes made in the new model of the GT-R focus on five areas — exterior design, interior refinement, driving performance, ride comfort and advanced technology, according to the company. The 2017 Nissan GT-R flaunts the new V-motion grille with matte chrome finish and an updated mesh pattern. The body panels changed to a more angular and crispier design than the previous version.
Inside the cabin, the new GT-R features an instrument panel wrapped in hand-selected Nappa leather and a revised front seat design. The new switch layout reduces the number of switches from 27 to just 11.
Powering the 2017 Nissan GT-R is a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that develops 565bhp at 6,400rpm and 633Nm of peak torque. Each engine of the GT-R is assembled by one of five master craftsmen called Takumi at Nissan's plant in Yokohama, Japan.
