"Twilight" alum Nikki Reed and her "The Vampire Diaries" star husband Ian Somerhalder are going to be working near each other, as her next acting gig has brought her to Atlanta, Georgia.
Reed will be essaying the role of Betsy Ross on Fox's "Sleepy Hollow," and filming will take place in the same city that "The Vampire Diaries" has been calling home for the past six seasons.
According to Reed, this is a blessing, as one of the most important things in a marriage is to stay connected and be close to one another.
"We always find time to be close to each other," Reed told ET about her relationship with Somerhalder. "I think that the ability to stay connected and in the same place physically is a real priority and more important than almost anything."
Somerhalder and Reed have been inseparable ever since they started dating last year, and her constant presence on "The Vampire Diaries" set was said to be one of the reasons for Nina Dobrev's departure from the show.
Somerhalder and Dobrev dated for about three years before calling it quits in 2013.
"Ian and Nikki's relationship is causing a lot of drama, to the point where the producers have asked Ian not to bring Nikki to set when Nina is there because they are very worried about losing her. They worry that the show would fall apart without her," a source told HollywoodLife in October.
However, Dobrev later noted that her decision to leave "The Vampire Diaries" had nothing to do with Somerhalder or his relationship.
And in the ET interview Reed too said she has no desire to head to Mystic Falls.
"I'm not on their show, and I think all the stuff that you read online or you see are all just people getting excited about controversy and stuff," she said. "But no, that was never in the cards. And 'ignore the drama' is all I can say to you."
"The Vampire Diaries" returns for its seventh season in October.
