"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev is currently filming "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," and recently she met with an accident while doing her own stunts.
The 27-year-old actress took to Twitter on Wednesday to post pictures of her injured leg, and it looks like Dobrev might have been in a lot of pain as the injury seemed rather deep.
"Film an action movie they said. It'll be fine they said. Movies may not be real but this is," she wrote alongside several shots of her injured leg. "The things we do for our craft ! But hey, the way I see it, it's a small price to pay to get to do what you love! Ive always wanted to be in an Action Movie… be careful what you wish for! #NoPainNoGain #ItAintEasyBeingABadass #XXXtheMovie @vindiesel."

Since the post, a section of fans have been urging the actress to take better care of herself saying they wanted her alive to film the series finale of "The Vampire Diaries," which they believe would feature a Damon-Elena reunion. As "The Vampire Diaries" fans know, Dobrev's character Elena is currently in a magic induced sleep and she'll wake up only when her best friend Bonnie dies, which could happen in the series finale.
As for injuries, this isn't the first time Dobrev has had to suffer for the sake of her art. The actress has suffered bruises and even muscle pulls over the six years she was a part of "The Vampire Diaries." According to one report, in 2010 Dobrev was sidelined for weeks after her back pulled during Season 2 of the vampire drama.
"I was getting run down with all the long hours, stunt work and stress of the show," Dobrev told the New York Post at the time, reported Wetpaint. "I was holding all this tension in my back, overcompensated and pinched all these nerves. My back was spasming and I couldn't move."
