Nikki Galrani, Nayanthara and Ajith Kumar have entered the list of most searched Kollywood celebrities of 2016 on Google. Nikki has also replaced Amala Paul to become the "most sensational celebrity to search for" in Tamil industry.
Nikki has become the "most sensational celebrity" in Tamil cinema as an online search for her name has high risk of getting into malicious websites, according to a survey by McAfee. It has been reported that all the names in top 5 from the 2015 survey have been replaced by new stars.
The top 5 most sensational online celebrities of 2015 in Tamil industry were Amala Paul, Arya, Suriya, Vijay and Amy Jackson. However, the 2016 survey gave new results as the top 5 positions have been taken by Nikki, Nayanthara, Madonna Sebastian, Parvathy and Ajith.
It has been reported that these stars' names are being used to lure users to websites that are filled with viruses, which are capable of stealing passwords and other private information. An online search for Nikki Galrani plus Torrent has an 18 per cent chance of connecting to any malicious website, the report said.
Individual Tamil celebrities with the highest risk-prone online search are Nikki (9.17 per cent), Nayanthara (8.50 per cent), Madonna Sebastian (8.17 per cent), Parvathy (7.67 per cent) and Ajith (7.33 per cent). Cyber crime is a growing menace and such considering the popularity of such stars, trapping naïve users becomes easier.
