Punjabi movie Nikka Zaildar starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa has received good opening in key international markets and made decent collection at the overseas box office in the first weekend.
Nikka Zaildar collected $120,892 (Rs 80.35 lakh) from 28 screens at the US box office in the first weekend. Its per-screen average works out at $4317. The Punjabi movie has £20,264 (Rs 17.45 lakh) from 12 screens at the UK box office in its opening weekend. It has raked in an average of $1,688 per screen in the country.
In the first weekend, Nikka Zaildar grossed A$187,386 (Rs 95.31 lakh) from 27 screens at the Australia box office and its per-screen average stands at A$6,940. The film has collected NZ$45,815 (Rs 22.13 lakh) from six screens at the New Zealand box office in three days. The movie has raked in an average of $7,635 per screen in the country.
Nikka Zaildar has collected approximately a total of US$323,553 (Rs 2.15 crore) from 73 screens at the overseas box office in the first weekend. The movie has grossed an average of US$4,432 per screen and it has become one of the big Punjabi money spinners in the international markets in 2016.
Nikka Zaildar is a romance drama written by Jagdeep Sidhu and directed by Simerjit Singh. The movie revolves around the story of a youngster from a village, who studies at college in Patiala. He falls in love with a college girl. The film is about various problems that come up in their relationship.
