Actor Nikhil Siddhartha says the team of "Shankarabharanam" (Sankarabharanam) has sent food and medicines worth Rs 5 lakh to people in Chennai.
Nikhil Siddhartha is one Telugu actor who is socially conscious. He often voices opinions on current affairs and expresses concern when natural calamities take place. Currently, he may busy with the promotion of "Shankarabharanam", but he still found time to do his bit for the people of Chennai. Along his teammates, he sent food and medicine to the victims of floods and rains.
This afternoon, the actor tweeted: "Our ShankaraBharanam Team have discussed the tragic situation faced by Our fellow countrymen in Chennai and decided to do our small bit... 5 lakhs worth of Food,medicines nd supplies will be handed over directly to an Ngo fighting on the ground through Mvv Cinema.. _/_ prayers. (sic)"
On Tuesday, Nikhil had offered prayers for the victims of heavy rain and flood in Chennai. The actor had tweeted: "Chennai is sinking.. Praying ppl haven't lost lives. Once the waters hav receded ppl will have to find the cause. #ClimateChange is for real. (sic)"
On Wednesday, Nikhil hinted at helping the rain-affected people in the city. He tweeted: "This is horrific scary... Our countrymen in a life and death situation... We need to all do something about it.. Need to find ways of how to help out ppl in chennai.. Boats?? Money?? Clothes?? Is the army there yet?? Consulting my team Will do my bit."

His latest movie "Shankarabaranam" is an action-crime comedy that is slated to release in theatres on 4 December. Written by Kona Venkat, the film marks the directorial debut of Uday Nandanavanam. It is produced by MVV Sathyanarayana under the banner MVV Cinema. Praveen Lakkaraju has composed music for the movie, while Richard Prasad has handled camera.
