A man was stabbed to death while another was injured after two groups from Nigerian nationals got involved in a violent fight in the northern Indian state of Delhi on Friday.
The incident took place at around 9 pm in South Delhi Chhatarpur area. The Delhi police have detained two people and are looking for the rest.
According to the police, two Nigerians got into a fight, which then took a violent turn, said a DNA report. Soon supporters of each of the Nigerian nationals rushed to the spot and got involved in the clash.
During the scuffle, one of the accused pulled out a sharp object and stabbed a Nigerian national from the opponent group. As the victim, a 30-year-old man named Hillary alias Harry collapsed on the ground and started bleeding, the accused man fled the scene. The man, whose identity is now knows was immediately taken to at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where teh doctors declared him brought dead.
The cops have registered a murder case under Section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code and a few other relevant sections.
"A case has been registered and one suspect, another Nigerian national, has been identified and detained. He is being interrogated to help identify the others and a search for has been initiated," the news outlet quoted DCP south Romil Baaniya as saying.
