Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman haven't really kept in touch since their 11-year-old marriage collapsed, and therefore it would be really awkward if they were to run into each other accidentally. This is something both their public relations officials want to avoid, as both Kidman and Cruise are expected to be in Australia at around the same time.
Cruise is set to promote The Mummy, while Nicole is due to start filming Aquaman on the Gold Coast soon, and their visits are "causing a whirlwind of controversy" for their PR departments, according to New Idea.
Quoting an unnamed source, the publication noted that both the actors' "people" are trying to ensure there wouldn't be an awkward reunion between the former couple. "There's still a lot of bad blood between Tom and Nicole, and no-one wants them crossing paths at all," the source said.
Back in 2015, Kidman had opened up to The Evening Standard about her marriage to Cruise, saying she doesn't regret it. "I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don't regret any of it," she said.
Interestingly, Cruise recently avoided running into another one of his ex-wives in Paris. Katie Holmes, who was married to Cruise for about six years from 2006, was in the French capital with her rumoured boyfriend Jamie Foxx and Cruise was filming for Mission Impossible 6 just blocks away from their hotel.
According to a People report, Holmes, who arrived in Paris on Sunday, and her long-time partner Foxx attended a farewell dinner for the new Robin Hood movie on Tuesday. The couple caught a flight out of Paris on Thursday morning.
