Anushka Sharma's debut production movie "NH10", which had a lukewarm start, took its opening weekend box office collection to a decent number.
After the slow start, trade experts expected the film to take its foremost weekend total to approximately ₹10 crore. However, the action thriller movie performed way better than expected.
The first weekend total of the film is ₹13.30 crore. "NH10" started with ₹3.35 crore income on day one, followed by ₹4.50 crore on day two and ₹5.45 crore on day three.
"#NH10 biz escalates further on Day 3... Fri 3.35 cr, Sat 4.50 cr, Sun 5.45 cr. Total: ₹ 13.30 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"#NH10 witnesses an upward trend on Day 2. Fri 3.35 cr, Sat 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 7.85 cr. India biz," he added.
The business escalated on Saturday and Sunday because of strong word of mouth. "NH10" is the fourth movie this year that performed well over the weekend due to strong word of mouth.
For Anushka, the debut production movie has turned out to be lucky as it has earned the production in opening weekend itself. "NH10" was made on a budget of ₹13 crore and the first three days box office income is over ₹13 crore.
Directed by Navdeep Singh, "NH10" features Anushka, Neil Bhoopalam and Darshan Kumaar in the lead roles.
Another film that is scoring well at the box office is Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer "Dum Laga Ke Haisha".
The film is running in its third week, but the box office collection has refused to slow down. On third Saturday and Sunday, the romantic comedy film fared more than one crore each day.
"#DumLagaKeHaisha [Week 3] Fri 62 lacs, Sat 1.15 cr, Sun 1.50 cr. Grand total: ₹ 23.85 cr. India biz. HIT," Adarsh tweeted.
The first quarter of the year may not have witnessed good movies (collection wise) at the box office, but the films are managing to earn decent amounts.
