Anushka Sharma has never refrained from speaking her mind. Be it admitting her relationship with cricket star Virat Kolhi, or supporting her rumoured ex-beau Ranveer Singh's current girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
In an interview with Filmfare, Sharma, who will soon be seen in her maiden production venture "NH10", extends her support to Padukone on her depression.
Padukone, who recently shared her story of dealing with depression, anxiety and going through low phase in her life, however, wasn't received well by certain section of people.
Speaking to the magazine, Sharma told that people should not judge Padukone because she shared her depression issues. The "PK" actress compared the "Happy New Year" actress' problem with Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta Jones who is dealing with bipolar disorder. Sharma states that unlike Padukone, Jones wasn't judged by the people for openly talking about her issues.
"When Deepika spoke about her depression, people wrote so many things about her. She was doing it for a larger cause. Catherine Zeta Jones is dealing with bipolar disorder. Do people write such things about her. She had the decency and the dignity to talk about it openly because she was doing it for a larger cause," said Sharma.
Considering the two rivals are both linked to Singh, such an honest statement by Sharma hints that the Bollywood actresses these days don't hold back from expressing their views and supporting each other.
Coming to the movie, "NH10" stars Neil Bhoopalam and is based on a couple's (Sharma and Bhoopalam) road trip that goes terribly wrong. The film will see Sharma in a never-seen-before avatar and will hit theatres on 13 March, 2015.
On the other hand, Padukone is currently shooting for Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha" in Delhi along with ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
