Google Nexus 7 was globally unveiled in June 2012. Now nine months later, it has finally made its official debut in India.
As of now only Nexus 7 16GB model is available through Google's Play Store for ₹15,999. The website claims that shipments will commence on 5 April.
The Nexus 7 tablet PC is co-developed by Taiwanese PC maker Asus and Google. It was unveiled during the Google developers conference 'I/O 2012' in June last year, and its sales began in July in select markets across world. Since then, it has turned out to be a profitable product with more than 4.5 million units sold in 2012. It was also awarded 'Tablet of the Year 2012' title by UK based tech magazine T3 (Tomorrow's Technology Today).
Co-developer Asus had launched the Nexus 7 with limited editions in the Indian market way back in November.
The Google-Asus Nexus 7 tablet PC sports a 7-inch HD display and runs on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor.
