Google's upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as Nexus 6 aka Nexus X is in the limelight again with its release date drawing near. Many see the next-generation smartphone as a competitor to Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and yet-to-be-released iPhone 6, but the biggest threat to the device is Xiaomi Mi3.
The Nexus 6 aka Nexus X is expected to see the light of the day on 31 October according to reports. Vice President of Google Inc. had earlier said at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) that the device would be announced in October without specifying the date.
Devices like Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 are currently ruling the smartphone market and iPhone 6 will soon join the league. Nexus 6 aka Nexus X will have to compete with these biggies next month but its main competitor will be the low-cost smartphone, Xiaomi Mi3, as devices from Samsung, HTC and Apple Inc. belong to a different league with much higher price tag.
The Xiaomi Mi3, which was released last month, has witnessed several flash sales, giving a hint that it may give Nexus X a run for its money when it hits the stores. Moreover, the handset from Chinese mobile phone makers cost only ₹13,999 while Google's next-generation smartphone is expected to cost over ₹30,000 going by the price of its predecessor.
