With Google Inc. expected to release its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as Nexus 6 aka Nexus X this fall, gadget lovers will be eager to know how the device will stake up against Samsung Galaxy S5, which was released a few months ago.
Going by the features that have been leaked so far, it looks like Google's new device will not lag behind its competitors.
The Nexus 6 aka Nexus X is very likely to be released in the 4th quarter of 2014 though Google Inc. hasn't uttered a word on it. The most reliable information so far on the release date of the device came from the company's vice president Sundar Pichai, who said at the Mobile World Congress 2014 (MWC 2014) that the smartphone would be announced in October.
Interestingly, Inferse website has claimed that Motorola Shamu aka Nexus 6 will be unveiled on 31 October. However, it is not confirmed yet.
When launched, the device will take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5 and several other smartphones from mobile handset makers like Apple, HTC, Sony, LG and Nokia.
The Nexus 6 aka Nexus X is expected to sport a 5.2-inch screen with a 1440x2560 pixels (565 ppi pixel density) screen resolution with a curved LCD display and a lightweight, polycarbonate body. It is expected to run on Android L, come packed with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM, and have a 3,100 mAh Li-Polymer battery.
According to Antutu benchmark listing, the new Nexus handset is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with CPU speed close to 2.5GHz and have a 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front snapper with autofocus, optical image stabilization, and LED flash.
However, G4Games reported that the device might come with a Quad-core MT6732 64-bit chip that clocked at 1.5GHz, or the octa-core MT6752 SoC running at a frequency of 2.0GHz.
In terms of connectivity, the device may come with Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and micro-USB connectivity slot. It may also have sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and barometer seen in Nexus 5.
