An alleged sketch of the upcoming 2016 Skoda Superb has been leaked online.
Chinese car website Auto Home has posted a sketch of what is believed to be the 2016 Skoda Superb, which is expected to make its grand debut in 2016. The authenticity of the image, is yet to be verified and thus it is unclear that whether the car seen in the latest drawing previews the final coupé.
Skoda has earlier said that the new Superb will be based on the MQB platform. From the images, it looks like new gen Superb is inspired by the Vision C concept, which was showcased at 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The car is likely to come with a new reworked front fascia and headlights.
Though the engine specifications of the new model is not known yet, a Motoroids report suggests that the car could pack 1.8 liter turbocharged petrol engine and 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine. Further details of the new model are scanty at this time.
Meanwhile, in India, the Czech automaker is preparing to launch Yeti facelift, new edition of Skoda Rapid and a new flagship seven-seater SUV.
The Yeti facelift is expected to have cosmetic upgrades and is likely to come with the same 2.0 liter diesel engine, which features in the current Skoda Yeti, and is likely to continue having two states of tune - 110 PS at 4,200 rpm and 140 PS at 4,200 rpm.
The 110 PS variant is tuned to make 250 Nm of torque and is likely to get a five-speed manual gearbox, while the 140 PS variant pumps in 320 Nm of torque and is expected to come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Skoda Rapid which is also in the pipeline for India is likely to be powered by a 104bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine and the company may also offer DSG automatic gearbox and paddle shifters in the car.
Moving on to the Skoda flagship seven-seater SUV for India, it is expected to be around 4.6 meters in length, and is likely to be pegged against Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe.
