A fresh batch spy shots of the next-generation Beat hatchback has emerged online, giving yet another look at the model before its arrival in the Indian market. The new Beat is expected to join the hatchback segment in the country in 2017.
The latest spy shots of new gen Beat comes from ThrustZone. The Beat is seen in its camouflage form, thus not giving out any details of the key changes made to the model. However, from what we hear, the new gen Beat is expected to get newly styled front and rear bumpers.
The new Beat, which will be based on the current Beat's M300 platform is likely to incorporate many changes in terms of style and features. It is expected to get new 7-inch MyLink infotainment system and an updated instrument cluster.
Currently, the Beat petrol is powered by a 1199cc four-cylinder unit that develops 77bhp at 6200rpm and 106.5Nm of torque, while the diesel model is 936cc three-cylinder engine that develops 56bhp at 4000rpm and 124.5Nm of torque at 1750rpm. Both the engines are mated to 5-speed manual transmission.
In the new avatar, the hatchback is likely to replace the 1.2l petrol engine with the 1-litre, three-cylinder petrol mill, while the diesel mill is likely to remain unchanged. The new petrol unit is the downsized version of the 1.4 Ecotec motor.
