Japanese automaker Toyota is preparing the next generation of its much popular Innova and the car is currently undergoing testing in India.
We have already given you enough spy shots and reports of this upcoming vehicle and now a fresh batch spy shots have surfaced online, which was caught on camera while testing in Bangalore.
Thanks to the good chaps at Motor Vikatan for the latest spy shots of Innova.
Toyota Innova, the current dominant power in the MPV segment is all gearing up to come in a new avatar. Like before, Innova is still seen hiding under the same camouflage, however, the prototype seen here confirms that the model has been greatly influenced by the current model.
The car is likely to get a larger and new front fascia with rectangular grille, with three slats on top and three smaller slats at the bottom. Although not as dramatic, the new version of Innova bears aggressive styling like an SUV.
The rear end of the Innova is also likely to get changes, including a new taillight arrangement. The car is expected to get some minor tweaks inside the cabin too, which is enough to distinguish it from the current version.
Talking about the heart of the new Innova, the car is likely to retain the same engine of the existing model, maybe with a better output.
We also hear that Toyota is planning to give the new Toyota diesel engine to the upcoming Innova with both manual and automatic transmissions. However, Toyota is yet to confirm the details.
The new generation Innova is likely to make its global debut in 2015 and Indian auto aficionados might have to wait till 2016.
Once it hits the market, Innova will compete with the recently launched Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia in the domestic market and from what we heard so far, the car will carry a price tag in the range of ₹9-₹15 lakh.
