Auto aficionados in India have seen several spy shots of the new-generation Innova shared by automobile websites. A fresh batch of spy shots has emerged on the web again, this time revealing the interiors of the car, and one may add, the Innova is about to get a stylish interior design abandoning the aged cabin styling.
The spy shots were taken by folks at Thecarnbikemag.com who caught the new Innova undergoing testing on the outskirts of Bangalore and like earlier, the car is still seen hiding beneath heavy camouflage.
Judging by the latest spy shots, the new Innova, which is expected to hit the roads by 2016, appears to have acquired more modern and upmarket interiors than the current version of the MPV . Though the shots are blurry, they do show the dual tone donned interior with big multi-info touchscreen and 3-spoke steering wheel. The body kit of the 2016 Innova with new front bumper and the bigger windshield gives it a bold and aggressive stance .Moving further, the new Innova looks bigger in size and seemed to have evolved more like an SUV.
Underneath the skin, the new Innova is expected to have the same engine as its existing version, may be with a minor tweak in the engine to give better output. So far, the company has not revealed anything about the new Innova powertrain, but rumours are also doing the rounds that the new model could also a get a new diesel engine.
The new Innova is likely to make its global debut in 2015 and is expected to reach Indian shores by 2016. In the Indian market, the Innova will be pitched against Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia and is expected to get a price tag around Rs₹9 lakh.
