A newly married South African Indian couple was killed just a day after their wedding, in a road accident in Durban en route to their honeymoon destination.
As per PTI report, Ashley Reddy, a 30-year-old medical technologist, married his girlfriend Depika, 29, on Sunday after being in a relationship for three years. The couple had decided to tie the knot after Ashley completed his Masters.
As they were driving towards their honeymoon destination on Monday, the couple met with an accident on a highway in Durban and were killed instantly.

Their car collided head-on with another vehicle. As per the paramedics, both vehicles were left 'mangled beyond recognition' post the accident.
The authorities added that a 15-year-old teenager, who had hitch-hiked in the other vehicle with a friend, was also killed. The driver of this vehicle has been recovering in a hospital and is likely to face a charge of culpable homicide.
As per the report, some 600 guests had attended the couple's wedding on Sunday. The Indian community in Durban was shocked by the news and many gathered outside the family's house to offer their condolences, as the couple was cremated together.
