A newly-married woman was allegedly gang-raped at gunpoint by her husband and two of his friends in Jharkhand's Palamu district late on Wednesday.
In her complaint, the woman told police that her husband Afzal Ansari returned home with his friends — Bablu Singh and Afzal Mian — and raped her. He later allowed his friends to take turns to rape her.
Afzal also made a video of the crime and threatened the victim with dire consequences, Press Trust of India reported.
However, the woman managed to escape from the house on Thursday morning and informed her parents. They took her to the police station to lodge a complaint.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Hiralal Ravi said that the officer-in-charge admonished them and sent them back without filing any complaint. Ravi has, however, directed local police to file an FIR against Ansari and his friends.
According to police, the three accused are absconding.
