In the year 1976, an American made headlines when he won the men's decathlon in the Summer Olympics. While his opponents lay tired and beaten panting for breath, the winner proudly took a victory lap. That was Bruce Jenner for you.
Years later, Jenner hit headlines once again – this time for undergoing a gender reassignment surgery and mesmerising the world as Caitlyn Jenner.
But it looks like she has more surprises in store for us. The former athlete is now said to be considering walking the runway at the upcoming New York Fashion Week that starts on 10 September. Caitlyn is likely to walk for Riccardo Tisci, the creative director of Givenchy.
"Caitlyn is in talks to walk the runway at the Givenchy for Riccardo Tisci show," a source told Life & Style Weekly, according to Wetpaint. While we have always seen Caitlyn so confident about everything she does, things seem to be a tad different now. The reality star is said to be confused about if it would be the right decision to make an appearance at NYFW.
"She feels a huge responsibility to the transgender community and is a little nervous about the backlash she could get by doing a fashion show," the source added.
Meanwhile, Tisci's show might just be the perfect platform for Caitlyn to make a runway debut as the designer is known to support the LGBTQ community and has often spoken about it. In the past too Tisci roped in transgender model Lea T for the fall/winter campaign of Givenchy.
Additionally, Tisci is one of Kim Kardashian's favourite designers and also a close friend. Kardashian, Caitlyn's step daughter, is often seen wearing his designs at various red carpet events and Tisci also designed her wedding gown when she tied the knot with rapper Kanye West.
Whether Caitlyn makes an appearance at NYFW Spring/Summer 2016 show or not is something that only time will tell, but we will surely see someone else from the family strutting her stuff on the runway -- Kendall Jenner.
The reality show star and model has made quite a mark in the industry and walked for world renowned names like Donna Karen, Diane Von Furstenberg, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta among many others. The 19-year-old is the global face of skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care brand Estee Lauder and Calvin Klein Jeans.
Kendall also has two nail paints from Nicole by OPI line and has her own collection – The Kendall & Kylie collection -- for PacSun.
