Fall is just a few days away and while we love the windy weather, we are already dreaming of the warm and sunny summers thanks to BCBG Max Azria's RTW Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
The brand new collection screamed sun, sea and sand with lots of summery, flowing dresses, skirts, shorts and baggy casual pants with a boho-chic edge to it.
When asked where the inspiration was drawn from, Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of the brand told WWD how fashionistas seem to be moving to Los Angeles these days and that they wanted to bring the funky and fun California style to the runway. It "is kind of cool," she added.
The outfits came in some delectable pastel shades of blues, pinks and whites giving them a light and comfortable feel. We saw dresses of various lengths but two of those really caught our eye – one a knee length white dress, which was simple with very light and understated ruffles on the torso area, and another a powder blue and white high-low piece. A dress in a baby pink hue paired with some leg-warmers and a cross body tassel bag also looked pretty.
The longer dresses were kept simple and chic, mostly in white and multi-coloured floral prints. Pants came in warmer tones and vertical stripes paired with feminine and dainty floral tops. Also we think the metallic gold three-fourths were very funky, especially for those who like a little rock-like edge. After all a lot of times we've seen how metallic is the new black.
The collection also features a few light jackets with very clean and angular cuts and prints, and these looked very classy and stylish when paired with pants, dresses and shorts.
Coming to shorts, that is what stole our hearts; specially a piece in blue and white with minimalistic design and paired with a light grey sweater with blue and black horizontal stripes.
While the outfits were classy as well as fun and funky, adding to the charm were these cute bucket hats which all the models flaunted with elan. What can we say, we never though bucket hats could look this good.
