Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi was honoured with an award by new York city council on Saturday.
The 61-year-old actress was honoured with the award in recognition for her contribution to Indian cinema and in the field of art.
She was presented with the proclamation by Patricia Kaufman, Executive Director of Motion Picture and Television Development, and a "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition" by New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney.
Meanwhile, the Shabana tweets "Receiving a PROCLAMATION by New York City Council Elizabeth Crowley and Congresswoman Caroline Maloney. Am honoured and humbled".
