New Year's Eve is arguably the best time of the year, and there are only a few countries that actually know how to do it right – Hong Kong definitely being one among them. With fireworks, parties and light shows, the 2016 New Year's Eve celebration at Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour is expected to one of the best in the world.
In spite of all their own indigenous celebrations, Hong Kong will also be imbibing a little bit of the New York New Year traditions, and doing a 60-second countdown at their Times Square. As we wait for the clock to strike 12, many popular artists will perform for the crowd, and this year's star performers are the Japanese Idol group Super Girls.
As per the annual traditions, fireworks display will be held on top of the Victoria Harbour at midnight. As part of 2016 Year Eve celebrations, we will see a series of fireworks and pyrotechnics that will embody this year's theme "Love and Joy".
Discover Hong Kong has provided a complete list of the best spots to enjoy the spectacular view and directions to get to these places. Another option of course, is to book a cruise that takes you on a New Year Countdown Tour. The cruise which lasts from 6pm to 12:30am on 31 December costs HK$1,600 per adult.
