Toyota's much-awaited the new Fortuner is all set to embark on its new journey in the country in a few weeks from now. Toyota has launched the website for Fortuner, which is open for registration to the interested customers.
The new Fortuner is poised for its launch in India on November 7 and the SUV has started arriving at the dealerships of the company ahead of its launch. The seven-seater SUV is already being sold in markets like Thailand and Australia. In India, the new iteration of the Fortuner is expected to carry a price tag of over Rs 30 lakh and the SUV will take on the likes of Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Fortuner is also open for booking in the country.
The SUV is likely to come powered by a 2.8-litre GD diesel and a 2.7-litre petrol engines. While the diesel variant will generate a power of 175bhp and 360Nm of torque, the petrol mill will be tuned to pump in 158bhp of power along with 245Nm of torque. The transmission in the SUV will be handled by six-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The new Fortuner will offer different drive modes and will come in four-wheel drive (4WD) and two-wheel drive (2WD) options in both manual and automatic gearbox.
The Fortuner measures 795mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,835mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The Fortuner gets revised front bumper with bi-xenon LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED tail-lamps. As for features, expect the Fortuner to pack a 7-inch T-Connect infotainment system, reverse camera, electrically adjustable driver's seat and cruise control and engine start/stop button.
On the safety front, the seven-seater Fortuner will get Downhill Assist Control (DAC) system, ABS with EBD, Stability Control and Active Traction Control system and airbags.
