New Toyota Fortuner SUV is just a couple of days away from its launch in India and as the SUV nears its launch, more details about the variants and the features of the India-spec model have started emerging online.
Toyota is expected to pull the wraps off the new Fortuner in India on November 7. The SUV has already started reaching the dealerships of the company and is open for bookings for a down-payment of Rs 1 lakh.
Expected to be priced in the price range of Rs 33 lakh to Rs 40 lakh, the new Fortuner is rumoured to be offered in six variants -- 4x2 Petrol Manual, 4x2 Petrol Auto, 4x2 Diesel Manual, 4x2 Diesel Auto, 4x4 Diesel Manual, 4x4 Diesel Auto. While both petrol and diesel engines make it to the new Fortuner, a report of IndianAutosBlog says that the petrol variants of the Fortuner are likely to be available only in Delhi initially.
Powering the Fortuner will be a 2.8-litre GD diesel and a 2.7-litre petrol engines. While the diesel variant will generate a power of 175bhp and 360Nm of torque, the petrol mill will be tuned to pump in 158bhp of power along with 245Nm of torque. We also hear that there will be a 2.4-liter GD diesel engine in the line-up, which will be tuned to generate 148bhp of power and 344NM of torque. The transmission in the SUV will be handled by six-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
The new Fortuner will offer different drive modes and will come in four-wheel drive (4WD) and two-wheel drive (2WD) options in both manual and automatic gearbox. It is expected to get a revised front bumper with bi-xenon LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and LED tail-lamps.
Toyota is expected to commence the delivery of the new Fortuner by end of November.
