The stage is all set to welcome the new Toyota Fortuner in India, which breaks covers in the country on Monday, November 7. The bookings for the new iteration of the full-size SUV are already underway and the new Fortuner is expected to come with a price tag in the range of Rs 33 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
The new Fortuner, which is based on an all new platform, wears new styling and is said to be lighter than the current model in the market. It is expected to host a slew of goodies and will pack both petrol and diesel engines under the hood.
New Toyota Fortuner: All you need to know
Expected to be offered in six variants -- 4x2 Petrol Manual, 4x2 Petrol Auto, 4x2 Diesel Manual, 4x2 Diesel Auto, 4x4 Diesel Manual, 4x4 Diesel Auto -- the new Fortuner will get 2.8-litre GD diesel and a 2.7-litre petrol engines under the hood. While the diesel variant will generate a power of 175bhp and 360Nm of torque, the petrol mill will be tuned to pump in 158bhp of power along with 245Nm of torque. The transmission in both will be handled by a six-speed manual and automatic gearbox.

The seven-seater SUV is expected to come equipped with safety features such as ABS (anti-lock Braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), brake assist, TRC (traction control), HAC (hill-start assist control) and seven airbags.
When launched in India, the new Fortuner of Toyota will be up against new Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
