Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, will launch the updated Access 125 scooter March 15. The scooter was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 in the beginning of February.
The Suzuki access was first launched in 2007 and it is the one of the first two-wheeler models SMIPL sold in the country. The updated avatar sports cosmetic as well as powertrain upgrade in Acccess 125. The redesigned front facia comes with newly designed large head lamp. The body panels and indicator designs have been tweaked to get a semi retro look.
The indicators now come with clear lens and tail lamps LED treatment. The new Access also sports a semi-digital instrument console unit. Suzuki claims the Access 125 will have the longest seat, the largest under-seat storage in the segment, bigger floorboard, front pocket and optional DC socket.
The 125cc engine with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) makes 8.58 bhp of power at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.8Nm at 5,000 rpm mated to CVT transmission. The SEP technology is expected to improve fuel efficiency and performance. The scooter will continue to sport telescopic front suspension and swing arm type rear suspension. The scooter will also be available with front disc brakes and alloy wheels.
The current model is priced at Rs 56,948 on-road, Delhi. The new model is expected to be costlier than the current model.
