It looks like 2017 is going to be a busy year for Maruti Suzuki, as the country's largest carmaker is gearing up for the launch of several models in India. While the first month of the new year will welcome the much-awaited Ignis compact crossover from Maruti Suzuki, the celebration is likely to continue as Baleno RS, Swift and the new Dzire are also on the anvil.
The Baleno RS is expected to be launched in February, while the next to join the list would be the new Swift Dzire sedan. The new Dzire, which is currently undergoing tests on Indian roads, is likely to arrive by May 2017, according to CarandBike. The launch of the Swift Dzire sedan in India is expected to be followed by the new 2017 Swift hatchback.
The new Swift Dzire is likely to stay within the style of the current model in the market. It is expected to flaunt new front fascia and LED taillamps. As for features, expect the new Dzire to get automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, reverse camera and steering-mounted controls.
As far as the engine is concerned, while the new Dzire is likely to get the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines of the current model, rumour has it that Maruti Suzuki could also bring 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine along with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology to the Dzire. However, there is no confirmation on the same so far.
